Welcome to Year 5

I hope you have all enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing Summer break and are ready for another year of learning.

This half-term is chock-a-block with learning!

In Maths we will be focusing on Place Value using our new scheme of work called 'White Rose'.

In English we will begin the year by looking at a novel called, 'Who Let the God's Out' which ties in nciely with our theme of Ancient Greece. This topic wil involve looking at the history of this significant culture but it will also underpin our Art and Design work. By the end of the half-term we will have made an Greek vase inspired by relics of that civilisation.

In RE we will be thinking about why Christians read the Bible, how does it impact on how they live their lives.

In Music we are welcoming back 'Choir Church', our visiting teacher's have music as their subject specialism and I am sure that we will learn a lot as we share our journey together through the year.

PE will be led by Mrs Hall on a Wednesday afternoon, please remember to bring your full school PE kit on that day.

Spellings and times table homework will be given out on a Friday and will be tested the following Friday.
